During the increasing digitalization of health services across Europe, the TRIO project, funded by Erasmus+, focuses on enhancing digital, health, and data literacy skills among adults. Through workshops and the development of a manual, online platform, and toolkit, TRIO aims to empower citizens to navigate the complexities of digital health services.

Award of best poster on the 43rd Portuguese Congress of Geriatric and Gerontology
During the 43rd Portuguese Congress of Geriatric and Gerontology, the TRIO project was highlighted, focusing on the importance of co-creation sessions in shaping the TRIO platform. The collaboration between adult educators and experts played an essential role in aligning the platform with the specific needs of our target audience. Our efforts were recognized with the award for the best poster presentation of the Congress.

TRIO was presented at the Gerontology Days 2023

TRIO was presented at the Gerontology Days 2023, an International Scientific Conference where it was possible to share insights from our innovative research, co-creation workshops, and stakeholder interviews, all aimed at fostering inclusivity and improving access to information.

AFEdemy promoted TRIO in Gouda
On August 1st, 2023, AFEdemy hosted the Taiwanese delegation specializing in long-term care and public health. During this meeting in Gouda, Willeke Van Staalduinen, along with Dieuwertje van Boekel and Sandra de Clonie Mac Lennan, had the opportunity to discuss the TRIO project and present other initiatives.  

TRIO project displayed at the 18th COST Scientific
Committee Meeting in Lisbon Carina Dantas was present at the COST Scientific Committee at the 18th SC meeting, in Lisbon. This meeting was an opportunity for SHINE to share more SHAFE-related projects, including TRIO. This was a great opportunity to approach and share this project, considering it targets health and digital literacy, in adults of all ages.

TRIO mentioned at the First National Conference on Promoting Active and Successful Ageing in Coimbra

TRIO was one of the mentioned projects, where healthier living, participating ageing, citizen empowerment and adult education are focused.        
                                                                                  
What have we done so far?                                                                                                                    

Co-creation workshops
TRIO co-creation workshops were completed in five European countries: Portugal, Spain,
Netherlands, Germany, and Romania

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of TRIO project co-creation workshops across five European countries. Participants from diverse age groups collaborated to design a digital learning platform focusing on health, digital, and data literacy for adults. Through engaging activities, attendees identified their main challenges and preferences for learning media and games. Detailed reports from each country’s workshop are available on the TRIO website.                     

Discover the English Version of the TRIO Manual Now Available

This manual presents the findings from research conducted in Portugal, The Netherlands, Spain, Romania, and Germany as part of the Erasmus+ project TRIO. Through TRIO, individuals are empowered with important skills and knowledge, enabling better access to reliable health information online, enhanced utilization of health applications, and comprehension of data privacy regulations. Delve into chapters covering ‘Digital, Health, and Data Literacy,’ ‘The Healthcare System,’ ‘Improving Digital, Health, and Data Skills,’ and ‘Information for Educators and Policymakers.’ Join us on this journey towards empowerment and skill enhancement!                      

The third Transnational Meeting of the TRIO project in Yecla, Spain

The third Transnational Meeting of the TRIO project in Yecla, Spain, facilitated productive discussions among project partners on May 9th and 10th. Led by CETEM, the meeting focused on assessing progress, gathering feedback from workshops and the manual, and planning next steps. Partners also conducted a self-evaluation of promotional activities and addressed financial administration matters. The meeting concluded with a relaxing dinner and an outdoor excursion to the Yecla Archaeological Museum.  

The fourth Transnational Meeting of the TRIO project in Frankfurt, Germany

During the fourth transnational meeting of the TRIO project held in Frankfurt on October 24th and 25th, the project partners reflected on past achievements and shape the project’s future trajectory. Exciting developments include the impending launch of the digital health literacy manual online, alongside ongoing efforts to develop a digital learning platform, an educator’s toolkit, and a policy-maker’s green paper.
