TRIO partner INESC TEC hosted two international meetings, engaging diverse public groups as part of its ongoing efforts in adult education and health. These events provided a platform to showcase the project’s methodology, resources, and educational platform while fostering fruitful discussions among participants.
The first TRIO International Meeting was held on April 15 at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Porto, as part of the BIP – Citizen Science for Psychological Wellbeing 2nd Edition. The event attracted around 30 attendees, including 23 international participants from countries such as Ireland, Slovenia, Germany, Italy, Estonia, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
During the three-hour session, participants were introduced to the TRIO project through a comprehensive presentation that detailed the project’s methodology and resources. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the educational platform, leading to an engaging and insightful discussion with the young adults present. The participants expressed significant interest in the project and the relevance of its content.
The second TRIO International Meeting took place on June 25 and 26, where Maria van Zeller, the INESC TEC coordinator, presented the project at the final conference of the VR2CARE project. This event, held at the Hospital da Ordem de São Francisco, saw over three dozen participants, with around 20 international attendees, thus granting the project substantial international visibility.
The presentation covered the project’s results and featured the project’s website, which offers access to the Manual for educators and citizens, the training toolkit, and a Green Paper for political decision-makers. The educational platform was also showcased, highlighting the participatory methodology applied throughout the project. Health professionals and citizens of various age groups (18-35, 36-50, and 51+) took part in co-creation workshops and platform tests, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the TRIO project.
One of the significant highlights was the discussion on TRIO and other related projects, including RAISE, RECONNECTED, and VR2CARE. Representatives from 10 other health projects were also present, fostering a collaborative dialogue on strategies, methodologies, and future interconnection work.
These international meetings underscored TRIO’s commitment to enhancing adult education and health literacy through innovative, participatory approaches, further solidifying its impact and relevance in these crucial fields.
