1st October is the International Day of Older Persons!

The International Day of Older Persons was proclaimed in Resolution 45/106 adopted by the UN General Assembly on 14 December 1990.

Over the next three decades, the number of older people worldwide is projected to more than double, reaching over 1.5 billion people by 2050. Forecasts indicate that it is in developing countries that the growth of the elderly population will be fastest, where the number of people aged 65 and over could increase from 37 million in 2019 to 120 million in 2050. (Eurocid)

TRIO is an important project for this age group because it will allow them to learn about health, data and digital literacy. Knowledge about these topics is fundamental nowadays: it enhances the chances of older adults to continue active and integrated in the society.
